Did you miss me?
In the grand scheme of things, it hasn’t been that long since my last post on January 9th, but comparatively speaking, that’s far too long of a drought for no updates.
Rather than try to get caught up by posting each trade individually, I’m going to do it all at once.
Before I do that, though, I owe the loyal readers an explanation of why I’ve been so lax. There are some major changes happening in the wizard household. Let’s take them in order:
Firstly, we’re moving to Denver, CO in three weeks. In December, my previous employer was acquired by a competitor, and an opportunity presented itself to transfer out of California. Mrs. Wizard’s industry is quite active in Denver, and she’s had no trouble finding a job there.
We’re looking forward to lower taxes and lower cost of living compared to the Bay Area.
Secondly (which is related to the first item), we’re buying a house in Denver, which means we needed to raise cash for a down payment. I liquidated the taxable holdings (account numbers 3 and 6 in the portfolio published back at the mother ship). I hope to have a post on “The Great Catfishwizard Taxable Holdings Liquidation” before the end of the month, but at the very least, I’ll cover it in the month-end summary.
Thirdly, we’re going to rent out the house here in the Bay Area. I look forward to the passive income that will generate. But in the meantime it is taking a lot of sweat equity and capital to get it “renter ready”. That’s really been the primary reason I haven’t been diligent about posting my January trades. We’ve just been so busy.
Anyway, here’s a table of my sold puts that I haven’t documented yet. Not much discussion but none of these are new positions, so how much commentary do they really need?
I’ll try to be more diligent about posts, but my plate is admittedly pretty full at the moment. Thanks for being patient.
